Wilk w Beskidach
The wolf in the Beskydy mountains

A group of mountain ranges stretches in the West from the river Beczwy in the Czech Republic across the river Cheremosh in Ukraine in the East. Their length is about 600 kilometers. The etymology of the word "Beskidy" is not clear, sometimes there is these words from the Thracian people Bessów, whose presence on North from the Carpathians noticed Ptolemy.

The Beskidy mountains are the youngest mountains in Poland. Arose in the final phase of the Alpine movements górotwórczych about 20 million years ago. They consist of fliszu, that is naprzemianległych layers of sedimentary rocks (mainly conglomerates, sandstones and shales). In the Beskydy mountains are various animals, such as deer, wild boars, foxes, Martens, bears, wolves, lynxes or wild cats. Here reigns a mild climate, mountain about growing to the East features the mainland.

Someone said that the Tatras are Gothic, the Beskids and the Baroque. S Baroque we see not only in the form of the Beskids, but it can be found throughout this land. How would I see it flowing in soft – wavy – soft lines and round, seemingly on the edge of the world.

My travels.

As you may have noticed, this page has not been updated very often lately. This does not mean that I have abandoned exploration - only that I am temporarily occupied by another project called Fshoq! - Travels and Photography, where I describe my travel adventures, I add photo guides and describe ways to live healthier. If you are curious about my trips and photography, take a look at this page. Once I've developed enough of Fshoq!, As I have done with Into the Shadows, I will return here and I will again start to describing my exploration of abandoned places. See you later!
